Opening Party
Thursday, September 18, 10PM
Following the opening night film (TBA), we will be rolling straight into our opening night party:
the Air Sex World Championships. It's like Air Guitar, but with sex. Austin has been the epicenter of the Air Sex movement and the preliminary rounds have finally led us to the grand championships on September 18. We'll have more details on this event closer to festival, but in the meantime, join the
Air Sex World Championships Facebook Group for videos, photos and more. If you want to compete, we're having a "dark horse" round at the Alamo Ritz the night before the world championships. Check back here for more info on the opening party.

Fantastic Feud

After only one year, Fantastic Feud has now become an annual tradition at Fantastic Fest. Goregeeks and minutiaelators, your countless nights of bootleg DVD viewing and VHS excavating are about to be rewarded. You are invited to witness - and maybe even take part in - the greatest horror game experience of all time...FANTASTIC FEUD!!! Renowned-and-notorious film critic Scott Weinberg (Cinematical, FEARnet.com, eFilmCritic.com, a million other sites and projects) will be your host for furious volleys of Terror Trivia, as well as the Sudden Death round at the end that just may determine who's the reigning king (or queen) of genre knowledge! Teams are comprised of Fantastic Fest filmmakers and guests, Austin movie luminaries, Alamo programmers...and some ambitious, competitive VIP badgeholders!! Fantastic Feud ended up being the highest-rated "film" of Fantastic Fest 2007. You are not going to want to miss it. Fantastic Feud also rolls into the no-holds-barred Fantastic Fest annual karaoke party!

Fantastic Fest Awards Party

Traditionally held at the end of Fantastic Fest, we are bumping it up to the middle of the week so that more of the visiting filmmakers and guests can be in attendance for the show. We'll also be awarding the best Bloodshots 48 Hour film, the best Fantastic Fest bumper film, the best Fantastic Fest Shakeyface Badge photo (more on this later) and of course the award winning short and feature films.
Closing Night Party
Thursday, Sept 25, time 10:30 PM
Following the closing night film, we will be heading out to Longhorn Caverns for GET LIT: the subterranean dance party. We'll be posting more details about this event closer to the festival, but rest assured, we'll be partying in cave and booze will be served.

From secret multi-course dinners, to tours of local studios to trips for BBQ and shotgun ranges, Fantastic Fest rolls out the red carpet for visiting filmmakers. The complete roster of events will be announced closer to the event, but we try to have one day activity each day and several parties throughout the weeks for the visiting filmmakers and industry professionals visiting during Fantastic Fest.
